Potty Training

Well, I've put off potty training Audrey as long as possible. She has shown interest since before she turned two (in July), but I had a new baby. We moved her into pull-ups and would take her to the potty occasionally. Let's face it...I was spending about 6 hours a day nursing, and I just didn't want one more thing on my plate. This is one of the difficult things about having your kids 19 months apart.

I bought her a new potty off of Amazon weeks ago. I never even took it out of the box. Late last week, Audrey pooped in her diaper while I was nursing Amelia in the living room. She walked into the room with a bare bottom and said, "I pooped my diaper. It was yucky, so I took it off!" I called Kurt and told him it was definitely time to start potty training!

We got the potty out of the box Friday night. Saturday morning, she woke up with a dry diaper but she didn't want to sit on the potty. A few minutes later she says, "I need to potty!" She ran to the bathroom, sat on her little princess potty, and went potty!! We were so excited that we woke Amelia up from her nap with our little "potty party". :)

She has gone several times on the potty since then. I'm trying to encourage her but not push her. Actually, I'm dreading having a newly potty trained child again. When they say they need to potty...they need to potty!! With Ava, I can just tell her to wait! :)

So we started...we're in the middle of potty training again...while I have a 9 month old. I'll let you know if I survive. :)

Halloween

We had the best time trick-or-treating last night. Audrey, the 2 year old, was so excited about her Ariel costume! She kept running to the closet to show me where it was hanging. So cute! I feel like we didn't get good pictures in their costumes because they were too ready to start trick-or treating.

Amelia was our little "Pumpkin Princess". :)

Love those dimples!

We tried to get a picture of all three of them in their Halloween outfits, but this is the best we could do. :)

Ariel and Belle

Amelia's Nickname is "Love Bug", so here is our little Love Bug

Out Trick-or-Treating (no, that was not our party bus) :)

We walked in the door and Ava dumped out her candy (Audrey soon followed)

Next year, we'll have three girls that can't wait to go trick-or-treating.

Welcome!

I am so excited to be writing my first post on my new blog! I've had another blog for about 5 years, but it is more of a place to post pictures of our kids for all of our out-of-town family. Jenn from Munchkinland Designs did a fantastic job with the design!

It is so funny to me that I actually have a blog called Swagger Wagon Chronicles! I said that I would never, EVER drive a minivan! Well, having three kids in four years does something to a girl. I really hate to admit that I love it. Now, I'm not saying I'll drive one forever. Once the kids are bigger and out of carseats, I'll probably go back to a Suburban or something similar. For now, I'm embracing my minivan driving life.

Quick story...My four year old, Ava, absolutely loves the "Swagger Wagon". They really need to put her on a commercial. She tells everyone about all of the cool features. Awhile back, we were at the Schlotsky's drive-thru. We had ordered food for 6 people (drinks included), and the guy asked me if I needed a drink carrier. From the third row, Ava yells, "no, it's okay...we have a Swagger Wagon." I was a little embarrassed as I politely told the guy "no thank you", but now it is hilarious.

I can't promise that this blog will not be inundated with pictures of the kids. I am a stay-at-home mom, after all, but I hope it will be much more.

So, welcome to Swagger Wagon Chronicles. Hopefully, someone actually stops by to read it. :)
